KROSS
Kyivan Rus’ in Oral and Scribal Stories
KROSS brings together text witnesses, catalogue records, and contextual metadata for the study of oral and written narrative traditions associated with Kyivan Rus’. The research workspace supports the reading and annotation of selected texts and the study of their sources, performers, collectors, and places of recording.
Sources and methods
The source work draws on Runateka, the Fundamental Digital Library of Russian Literature and Folklore (FEB), and digitised editions. Texts and source references are checked against one another to distinguish matching wording, different versions, and unresolved identifications. Source research and materials available in the working corpus are documented separately.
